A yosegi-zaiku wood cabinet. Meiji period, around 1880

In shape of a Western baroque-style cupboard on four shaped legs, the front with a double door flanked by altogether eight drawers, the front, sides and top inlaid with various kinds of wood with symmetric shapes filled with small geometric patterns. Fittings of chiseled copper, the pull handles of copper in shape of butterflies.
Height 29.8 cm; width 27 cm; depth 15 cm
