A marine ivory sashi netsuke of a large octopus. 19th century

A realistic representation of an octopus with a flat mantle sac, with very large eyes inlaid in black and light brown horn, eight short tentacles and two long tentacles used to quickly capture the pray with radula at the tips, one of them lying over the front, the other over the back where the funnel is carved, the inside accentuated with red pigment.
