A Meissen porcelain sugar box with merchant navy scenes

Oval box, the original lid with a rabbit finial. Painted with particularly finely rendered merchant scenes in two opulent surrounds to the body and both sides of the lid. Blue crossed swords mark, former's mark triangle, presumably that of Johann Gottfried Fehrmann. Minor retouches and wear to the gilding, a minute firing flaw to the rim of the lid. H 8.2, W 12 cm.
C. 1735/36, decor attributed to Christian Friedrich Herold.
