A large Tokyo school ivory netsuke of a seated Hotei, by Yasuaki. Late 19th century

The loosely worn green-stained robe displaying a bare shoulder, fleshy chest and belly, the garment with roundels inlaid in various materials in a silver ring, at the back a nyoi sceptre of wood slipped into the sash of mother-of-pearl. Himotôshi lined with dark horn. Signed Yasuaki and red lacquer seal Kodama. 1 Silberring fehlt (Rückseite)
