A boxwood netsuke of three oni with a money bag, by Gisaku. Late 19th century

A large bag filled with coins is pulled by a rope by two oni, one with a horse’s head, while another oni holds on to the sack thereby ripping open the fabric and revealing coins with the characters “ô” (king) and “kane” (money) inside. The eye pupils of black horn. Signed Gisaku.
