A BANGWA BEADED FIGURE
Cameroon

Standing holding a horn in one hand, the other on the hip, the face body and limbs sewn with strands of blue, red, white and black beads forming triangles, chevrons and zigzags, the facial features in white beads, small beaded conical breasts, a roughly formed disc on top of the head painted red with blue, black and white geometric pattern, the top inscribed: “Yayu” from Bangwa Central Afrika, inventory number Ka 33 on the underside of the foot.
