A large boxwood netsuke of three oni, by Tadahisa. 19th century

Carved as three oni being driven off at setsubun, two on the top of Shôki’s straw hat pelted by beans, one angrily tagging at the loincloth of a third who cowers beneath, the demons with horns of ebony. Signed Tadahisa in two rectangular reserves.
Height 2.8 cm; length 4.5 cm
