A boxwood netsuke of the fox or tanuki dressed as a woman. First half 19th century

Standing dressed in long robes, an apron with an asa-no-ha pattern, a hood and an obi tied into a long bow at the back, the left paw rests on a gnarled staff, the right paw holds a sake bottle with the character “matsu” (pine).
