22.8 x 15.5 cm. Illustrated book, shunga. Title: Shaka hassô zoku yamato bunko, 3 vols., complete, in a blue carton wrapper. Text by Mantei Oga. Each vol. in a cover with design of cherry blossoms in snow, with title printed in gold. Vol. 1: 1 title page in colour, 3 pages preface, 7 double page colour illustrations (one page opens into two more illustrations), 1 single page colour illustration, 20 pages text incorporating black and white illustrations. Vol. 2: 1 page frontispiece in colour, 2 single page and 3 double page colour illustrations, 18 pages text incorporating black and white illustrations. Vol. 3: 1 page frontispiece in colour, 2 single page and 3 double page colour illustrations, 20 pages text incorporating black and white illustrations. Circa 1854. Fine impressions and colours, blind printing, gold, rubbed and soiled at lower margins, covers somewhat rubbed and gold oxidized, all in all very good condition
