Utagawa Hiroshige III (1842-1894)

Japanese-style album of 61 ôban, the complete series Tôkai meisho kaisei gojûsan-eki, published in 1875 by Shimizu-ya Naôjirô. One title page and 60 pages with images of different stations showing westernisation. Title page inscribed in black ink with number 439. In a paper wrapper, inscribed in black ink ‘Tôkai meisho kaisei dôchû-ki, 60 landscapes, complete’. Each page signed Hiroshige ga and with aratame censor seals for the year 1875. Very good impression and colours, various pages with creases in margins, various pages with trimmed margins, 7 pages with worm damage (mostly backed), wrapper rubbed and torn at edges; all in all very good condition
