A Edo school ivory netsuke of an octopus fighting two monkeys, by Ikkôsai. Mid-19th century
Seated on the back of an overturned mortar the octopus tries to free himself from the attack of two monkeys emerging from beneath the bowl. The eye pupils of black horn. Signed Ikkôsai in an oval reserve.
