A small roundish two-case inrô. 18th/19th century

Displaying a gibbon in a bare tree covered with lianas, who is reaching for the reflection of a crescent moon (on the other side of the inrô) in takamaki-e, hiramaki-e and brown lacquer on a blackish-brown lacquer ground. Black lacquer to the inside. Reworked. Along with a wood netsuke of a crawling monkey.
